Flesh Eating Fun

Featuring guest writer, Jude Walter Mire; Chicago based horror author extraordinaire.
The
dead may not have risen (yet), but they’ve certainly risen in
popularity. Hordes of zombies have successfully invaded our movie
theaters, shredded though novels, eaten whole towns in video games,
and even gnawed on our favorite heroes in comic books. They came for
our brains but they’ve stolen our hearts.
If this mainstream mob of the living dead is not enough to
satisfy your survivalist fantasies, fear not! Zombies have broken
through the barricades and into the world of board games with the
Twilight Creations game;
Zombies!!!
Family game night will never be the same.
The small box comes with ample warning: “Prolonged exposure to this
product may cause necrobiosis, necrolatry, necrophagia, and
necrophobia”. Players must pit themselves against dozens and dozens
of tiny plastic man-eaters as they search feverishly for the
helicopter pad that will get them to safety. This “board” game
throws convention to the mob by mercilessly ditching the idea of a
board and instead comes with apocalyptic road map tiles that build a
unique playing field with each game. Navigate the slaughtered town
clinging desperately to your life hearts (actual tiny hearts, not
the cutesy kind) and limited supply of bullets. Along the way you
gather wonderfully bloody cards to help you out; Fire Axe, Chainsaw,
and eye-popping exploding heads on the Lots of Ammo card. But it’s
not all about escape! You must also sabotage the other players with
fun cards like Brain Cramp, Your Shoe’s Untied, and Just When You
Thought It Couldn’t Get Any Worse! After all, there’s only room for
one in that helicopter. Survival of the un-bitten. Nothing makes for
an evening of game-time fun like kicking your friends into a
cannibalistic swarm of the undead.
Like most zombie movies, Zombies!!! the game comes with a
slew of sequels (game expansions): Mall Walkers, School’s Out
Forever, Zombie Corps(s) (comes with glow in the dark zombie
pieces!) and others. Use these to “grow” your town (and zombie
horde) to include a university, military bases, malls, zombie babes,
new grotesque cards, and much more!
So before you sit down to another game of Uno, remember that you
never know when the zombies may come calling. Shouldn’t you get a
little survival practice in? Just in case...
Yours in flesh munching gore,
Jude
Jill's p.s. You can get ALL the Zombies!!! games and expansions here in our Killer-works Store. You can also read more from Jude (lovely disturbing fiction here) in The Book of Dead Things, published by Twilight Tales
